Well I think out first game went off with a bang! The weather behaved itself (after all the rainy days we have experienced) the course was in great nick and a very good turn out of 100 players. The prize giving went off quickly and smoothly considering that each of the 100 players received a prize. Not having prize giving in the bar resulted in a far more intimate occasion and we will, in future, carry on with this concept.

Just a quick word about the Nationals. It seems that our friends from the other provinces are going to put us to shame regarding their numbers of supporters for the Nationals. A small region like East London who only have approximately 70 members are sending a contingent of 50 players, which is really something. We are the largest region and as of this time have only 45 people supporting this tournament. Please guys make an effort to support the Nationals, especially as we are the hosts.

The fee of R3000 needed for this tournament is well worth it as it includes, accommodation, 2 rounds of golf (caddy and cart at Wild Coast and caddy at Southbroom) 2 banquets, entertainment, a cocktail party and breakfasts. All players will receive a Nationals cap and golf shirt, plus a goodie bag to the value of R400. The Natal players in addition to the above will be receiving, a pair of socks, a pair of shorts or longs, a golf shirt and an evening shirt. What more can you ask for!! Please guys make the effort to get there.

We have 3 new members who will be inducted at our next game plus a past member will be reinstated.

See you at our next game, which will be Royal Durban Golf Club on 2 March 2010 and not Mount Edgecombe as previously advised, due to them refurbishing the men’s locker rooms.

KZN- 2010 Newsletter No.1

Dear Qaccs member, 27.01.2010

As we are “in-between” Captains I have been asked to write the 1st newsletter this year and update you on what’s what!!

FEBRUARY GAME @ UMHLALI 11 FEBRUARY 2010
As we were unable to hold our “Sponsored Year End Game” due to the terrible weather we have been having and the terrible luck on our choice of dates, the “Beginning of the Year Sponsored Game” will be at Umhlali on Thursday 11 February.
This is a 4 Ball Alliance (draw) and prizes will be paid down to 25th place. We will also have the “Yellow Ball Competition” sponsored by Jim Kayser of Kayser Baird & Assoc, and the “Wild Animal Competition” proceeds of which go to charity.

Qaccs will sponsor Halfway House and you will receive a voucher at the start table, which must be handed in at the halfway.
Qaccs will sponsor drinks from 17h00 to 18h00

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:
This will take place at 18h00 prior to the Awards Presentation for 2009 and the prize giving.

NATIONAL TOURNAMENT 2010 – WILD COAST 12-14 MAY 2010:
Your National Tournament Committee has been working hard behind the scenes to make this a successful event. The KZN club has an allocation of 70 players and has only filled 37 of these spots.
The cost of R 3000.00 includes golf, caddies at Southbroom (carts with a medical certificate) and carts for all at Wild Coast, 3 nights accommodation with breakfast and evening meals and entertainment of the highest quality. It is up to us to make the Nationals an event to remember and for this we need the support of our members. Please give this some serious thought and contact Karl Rabie, Chris Wilkins or any committee member if you have any questions.

SUBSCRIPTIONS:
Subscriptions are due at the Umhlali game: R 430.00 (Subs & National Levy)
R 1280.00(Subs, Levy, comp fee) R 2500.00 (subs. Levy, comp fee, green fee).
Please remember that if you want to enter the Qaclectic you need to add a further
R100.00 to your payment.



INDUCTIONS:
We will be inducting Kevin Archer at Umhlali.
Kevin was proposed by Howard Hutchinson and is a member of Bluff National Park.
His Business is: Amakhaza Moia where he is the Contracts Manager.
We wish Kevin a long & happy association with Qaccs KZN.
