NEWSLETTER – MARCH 2010
Dear Qaccs members,
I have been receiving numerous phone calls from all over South Africa, especially the Eastern Cape where they are experiencing drought conditions, asking if we in Natal could have our golf days in their provinces. Then they would be assured of the much-needed rain they require. So if any of you have connections with the Man upstairs, please ask him to spread the rain elsewhere now.
In spite of the rain, a good day was had at our last competition at Royal Durban, everything ran like clockwork and the scores, considering the conditions of the course due to the rain, were very good.
The show of support with regard to changing our uniform i.e. the playing shirt and the prize-giving shirt was very encouraging and this will be discussed further, after the nationals.
There has been a very disappointing entry for The Milworth Trophy, even though it will be played on our Qaccs days. Gives the impression the blokes have not got mates to join up with?? Phone Helen if you change your mind.
The Nationals are going along fine, with Natal being shown up in a bad light with so few entries. The committee will take this on the chin.
The next game is at Durban Country Club on Thursday15th April, when it is hoped we will have a good turnout. Prize giving will be in The Sportsman Bar as the function rooms are all occupied.
We welcome Garth Gamble and Sheldon Stevenson who will both be inducted at Durban Country Club, we hope you enjoy your Qaccs experience.
Let’s hope for no rain.
Regards
Chris Wilkins
